Today we are going to talk about Dirt Cheap Facebook Ads and how to get your Facebook Ads to go the furthest. I am going to show you the Top 50 cities where you can get your Facebook Ad spend to go further than ever, so let’s get started.
Have you ever wondered how far a $5 per day Facebook campaign can really go? Well I used my new social ad helper tool to find this out for you, and here is what I did.
First I created a simple Facebook campaign and I told Facebook I only wanted to spend $5 a day and here’s what it looks like:
You would have probably seen this if you already run Facebook Ads. I just set a per day budget at $5 and I wanted to find out how far it could go. So next I had my new social ad helper tool search the Top 50 cities in the US to report back the estimated reach and you’ve seen this in Facebook, I am sure:
Facebook tells you the estimated reach which means how many people your ad is likely to get in front of, and it’s not based on their audience so in this example we can see even though I have targeted a 110 million people, my $5 ad in this case is likely to be seen by between 3600 and 9400 people.
The results are actually pretty surprising and not what you might think. I will show you the Top 5 cities with the appropriate radiuses; use these to get lower ad costs on Facebook. Here are the top 5 cities that you will get the most bang for your buck, and I will include a link to all 50 cities in the bottom of this blog post so let’s get started.
1. Dallas Texas
The first city is Dallas, Texas, so out of the entire United States Dallas, Texas on a $5 campaign set to 50 miles will get you in front of almost 35,000 people it’s quite staggering and then watch what happens when you drop down to 25 miles, look how fast the reach drops, it just plummets when you go down to 25 miles:
2. Forth Worth Texas
So let’s look at our next city and it’s Fort Worth, Texas and it looks very similar. In Fort Worth if you set it to 50 miles again you get over 30,000 people and then as you drop it to 25 miles, it skews off and then 10 miles goes very quick:
3. Arlington Texas
Let’s look at our third city, we have Arlington, Texas are you seeing a pattern here that maybe advertising on Facebook in Texas with 50 mile radius’s it is going to get you much better results than anywhere else in the country? But we will keep going with this and you see a similar pattern in Arlington, Texas:
4. Chicago, Illinois
Now let’s look at our fourth city, we have Chicago, Illinois which is a major city in the US but look what happened here. In Chicago if I set it to 50 miles I hardly get any reach, but if I switch it to 25 miles, my reach blows up to over 30,000 people. So just because it’s a big city it doesn’t mean it always works for 50 miles as you can see with Chicago:
5. Atlanta, Georgia
And let’s look at our last city of the top 5 cities with Facebook reach, we have Atlanta, Georgia and that has a similar pattern to the big cities in Texas, but with Atlanta it is kind of strange when you drop to 25 miles you get a sharp dip and then it picks back up at 10, so these are not very intuitive, but you can use these to get really low Facebook ad costs:
So to recap, big cities at a 50 mile radius don’t always produce the most reach with Facebook, like I showed you in these examples, it all has to do with how often people are online in these cities and how much competition is being advertised against you in each city.
