#FacebookAdvertising Case Study: Slashing Ad Costs

In this video I show you how I slashed the ad costs for one client’s Facebook Advertising budget.  This client actually contacted a Facebook Marketing Company.  This company set him up a Facebook page and spent over $1,500 of his money.  The worst part is he got almost nothing to show for all the Facebook Advertising money that was spent.

This campaign was focused around building an email list using Facebook.  Our goal is to get an email subscriber for around $1 – $2 each.  The company my client hired got him an email subscriber for around $30-$40 each.  This is a horrible conversion rate for any Facebook Advertising Campaign.  Let’s see how we can fix it.

A Great Facebook Advertising Methodology:

In the video I show you how we went about slashing his ad costs.  The basic methodology I used is listed below:

Where you are Sending People?:

The first thing we looked at is where he was sending people.  We cleaned up his landing page and removed his double-optin settings email sign up settings (I recommend NOT using double opt-in for Facebook Advertising).  Our goal is to get his landing page converting at over 30%.

Finding a Great Audience:

Next we created 4 separate ads.  We simply only changed the images to start with.  Then we used the Facebook power editor to copy these 4 ads into 4 separate audiences:

Facebook Advertising - 4 Audiences

The idea is to run the ads for a while against the 4 different audiences.  Eventually one of the audiences will be a winner.  After that you want to find the best Age and Gender that is signing up for your offer:

By repeating this process you will start to zero in on the audience that your ad is resonating with the best.  You will know it because your Facebook ad score will be higher (above 7 is good) and you will have a lower cost per conversion.

So make sure to watch the Facebook Advertising video above.  It shows you exactly how I went about doing all of this.
