If you have thought about using Social Media Marketing for your business then you probably have experienced these two emotions: confusion and overwhelm. From my experience these are the two emotions that will kill your social media marketing efforts dead in its tracks. In this video I talk about how to overcome confusion and overwhelm so that your social media marketing becomes easier.
I give you some great tips in the video for making your social media marketing easier. If you do not have time (or just can not) watch the video above then I will summarize it for you below.
Social Media Marketing Made Easy
Like I said above, the two big things that hold most people up are Confusion (not knowing what to do) and overwhelm (not knowing what to do first). By helping you avoid these two pitfalls your social media marketing will be much easier. So follow these tips.
Start With One Social Network – The is the biggest problem I see with Social Media Marketing. You go open up a bunch of accounts on every social media marketing platform you can think of. Then the sheer panic of overwhelm sits in when you have no idea how to stay on top of all these social media platforms.
To fix this common mistake just start with one social media network. Then once you know how to do social media marketing on that platform move on to the next one. The good news is it should only take you a week or two to get the hang of one platform before moving on to the next one (if you really want to).
Create A Simple Social Media Marketing System – Once you start getting the hang of what you need to do on your first social media platform, create a simple schedule for yourself. Some things to include on that weekly schedule are: When you will post some content? Is it Wednesday Mornings? Or Tuesday Night?
Part of your schedule should also be creating a very simple content calendar so you are not thinking of what you need to write next. You already know!
By creating a simple schedule you will know what to do next and won’t be wasting time or energy thinking about it.
Use Automation Tools – This is a big one. There are so many social media marketing tools out there that can automate a lot of the tedious tasks that social media marketing requires. In the video I mention 3 tools for automating your social media efforts:
BufferApp – This is a great social media tool to help your share other people’s content with your audience. Simply spend 30 minutes and pick great articles that your audience will love. BufferApp drips them out over the week. You only need to go finding content once a week A Real time saver.
HootSuite – Manage all your different social media profiles from place. Works great on your iPhone or Android device. HootSuite will automatically schedule out all your replies too so it seems more natural. Again you can do all your work in the morning and have hootsuite drip it out over the next few days.
ManageFlitter – Great tool for Twitter only. It automates a lot of the following and unfollowing of people. It will even automatically tweet out pre-done tweets every few days. A real lifesaver on Twitter.
