In this article I am going to show you how to solve one of the biggest problems in social media any ideas on what it is?
If you guessed content creation you are right. You see all of us panic when we think of all the great articles we have to come up with to post on twitter, facebook, Google+, Linked-in, and more..
To make it even worse you probably feel like you need to post your “amazing content” at least once per day. How can you ever keep up? How can you ever write that much good stuff? Well you can’t and neither can anyone else. But there is a trick that will save you. It is called content curation.
What is content curation?
Well here is how to think about it. Think about the difference between an art warehouse and an art gallery. The warehouse has every piece of art in it good or not.
But the art gallery is so much better because it only has the best art. Someone took the time to curate the gallery and remove the bad art. You need to do the same for your social media channels.
You see there is way too much information on the internet. It’s a big problem. Don’t believe me?
Google made a search engine to curate all the webpages on the web. We use Google because we want them to “curate” the search results and find only the best sites for us. Facebook is now curating status updates. They know there are even too many status updates now for you to read all of them.
You need to be the person that filters out content for people in your market. Think of yourself like a news reporter for your market. If you cover “business management coaching” then find and post the best articles about business management. Don’t you think people interested in business management would find your social media profiles useful?
Or course they would.
You don’t need to always be coming up with your own stuff. Just report on only the best articles. People will love you for it because you are saving them time. It’s a simple trick that will work wonders for you. Then when you feel inspired write something great and mix it into your social stream.
So how do you start curating?
Well a great tool to start with is called bufferapp. You can get it at http://www.bufferapp.com
After you sign up, install their browser plug-in. The browser plug in lets you post a page (title, link, and image) to all your social media channels. The only thing you need to do now is just find articles that your audience will like. Luckily there are a few places online that already do this for us.
Go to places like:
Find good articles to post to your social media profiles. Bufferapp will queue them up so they drip out nice and evenly over days. Now your Facebook page, twitter profile, and more will have relevant articles appears a few times per day. Simple. Easy. Fast. It is a great way to relieve the stress of always needing to come up with great content.
Bufferapp is the same tool I use to build a following for all my social media channels. If you want to see exactly how I use it for Twitter then check out this short video.
