standard Content Marketing Strategy That Got Me 29,316 Free Views

December 15, 2015By admin

Are you looking for a content marketing strategy that will get you free website traffic?  In this video I show you my own content marketing strategy that I used to get 29,316 free views from the web and social media.  I show you everything I do in my content marketing strategy so you can get similar results too.  As always if you do not have the time to watch the video on my content marketing strategy then I have put the main points below.

My Content Marketing Strategy Revealed

My content marketing strategy that got me almost 30,000 free views revolves around making a video.  Then posting it to various places on the web.  Finally I take the video and turn into a blog post.  Just like the one you are reading right now.   So here is the process and time involved in my content marketing strategy:

Research a topic – I go to Google and type in a phrase for video topic.  For this one I typed in “content marketing”.  Then I look at the bottom of the page and see what Google suggests as alternate search terms.  For this article I picked Content marketing strategy: (Total Time: 2 Minutes)

Create a Video – My next step is to hop on periscope and record a video about my topic (In this case it is a video about a “content marketing strategy”) using Live streaming.  I did not count my periscope views in my content marketing numbers but I can tell you I usually get around 50 people to watch the live video.  In fact 107 people watched the live recording of this video.  Total Time: 20 minutes

Put Periscope Video on YouTube – Next I take that periscope video and post it to YouTube.  I use a software program called Camtasia.  It takes about 5 minutes to edit the video and create it.  I tag the video around the keyword phrase I picked in the first step.  For this example it is: Content marketing strategy.  It is the exact video you can see at the top of this blog.   You can see it on YouTube Here. It takes another 5 minutes to write up a quick description on YouTube and post the video.  Total Time: 10 minutes

Put Periscope video on iTunes as Video Podcast – Next I put the periscope video on iTunes as a video podcast.  I use a service called podbean to do to this.  Very easy.  Takes only a few minutes.  Total Time: 5 minutes

Put Periscope Video on Facebook – Facebook makes it easy to post videos.  This is VERY fast.  It only takes a minute or two.  I do not get big results from Facebook but since it is so fast I put the videos there anyways.  Total Time: 2 minutes

Write a blog post and embed YouTube Video – This is the blog post you are reading right now.  It takes me about 15 minutes to write the first draft of the blog post.  Then another 15 minutes to proof read it.  I use the Yoast SEO wordpress plug-in to make sure my blog post is optimized for the keyword I picked in the first step.  In this case the blog post is optimized for “content marketing strategy”.  Total Time: 30 minutes.

You can see my whole process takes about 1 hour to do everything.  The biggest parts are just recording the video and writing the blog post.  If I am pressed for time I will just do the videos and no blog post.  That cuts everything down to just over 30 minutes.  You can see that writing the blog post takes most of the time.

So here are the results from doing this process for the last 10 months with the BuildingSocialProof.com site:

Content Marketing Strategy Results:

NOTE: These are the results from taking a BRAND NEW site and doing this for 10 month.

YouTube Views – 13,356

Blog Views – 10,316

Podcast (iTunes) – 5,604

Periscope – approx 50 views per video

Facebook – about 10 views per video

Total Views: 29,316 + Periscope and Facebook views.

If you have been looking for a good content marketing strategy here is one that works for me.  As you can see the trick to it taking the time to get your content out there.  Consider using Periscope too to make your videos.  It is the fastest way I found to create that much content and get free traffic to your blog and social media properties quickly.
